Veart lands new Adelaide deal but he’s focused on one thing as the Reds fly high

Adelaide United head coach Carl Veart has signed a three-year contract extension however he is solely focused on making the 2022-23 Isuzu UTE A-League season a “very memorable” one.

Veart will remain at Coopers Stadium until the end of the 2025-26 campaign, with Adelaide riding an 11-match unbeaten streak as the Reds sit second in the standings and threaten to dethrone reigning premiers Melbourne City.

The 52-year-old, who scored the first ever Isuzu UTE A-League goal as a player for Adelaide but taking charge of the team in 2019-20, has also unleashed some exciting young talent – from Nestory Irankunda to Luka Jovanovic and Jonny Yull.

“I’m very happy to have signed this three-year contract extension with Adelaide United,” Veart said.

“To represent South Australia each and every week is a privilege and something I’ve never taken for granted and it’s an honour to continue doing so.

“I’ve always said this club has held a special place in my heart and I’m very pleased to know that my future will remain here at the Reds.

“Since I returned to United, we have made a lot of progress both on and off the field, but we still have a lot of work to do to ensure we remain one of the most respected clubs in Australian football.

“As for this season, we’re in a very good position and there’s every opportunity to make this campaign very memorable.

“This is where our focus is and we will continue working hard right until the very end.”

Adelaide United CEO Nathan Kosmina added: “Ensuring we extended Carl’s contract has been one of our biggest priorities.

“What Carl and his coaching staff have achieved over the past three seasons has been phenomenal and thanks to Carl our football program has never been better positioned for consistent, longer-term success.

“I want to thank Carl for his unwavering commitment and dedication, and whilst this season remains in absolute focus, I look forward to what we can achieve in the years to come under Carl’s leadership.”
