Perth Glory captain Tom Lawrence will miss his side’s Matchweek 4 clash with Newcastle Jets after accepting a one-game ban.
The Glory skipper was sanctioned by Football Australia regarding his post-match comments about officials following Perth’s 2-1 loss to Macarthur Bulls in Matchweek 1.
Lawrence was handed a one-match suspension and a $1,000 fine after breaching the FA’s National Code of Conduct and Ethics.
The 32-year-old initially notified Football Australia on Wednesday, November 4 of his intention to appeal the sanctions imposed upon him.
However the club has confirmed the appeal has now been withdrawn, meaning Lawrence will service his one-game suspension against Newcastle Jets on Saturday, November 7 and will be eligible for selection for Perth’s next game against Central Coast Mariners on Saturday, November 21.
