AAMI Park announced as venue for blockbuster 2026 Australia Cup final

Melbourne Victory and South Melbourne FC now have a time, date and location set for their mouthwatering 2026 Australia Cup Final.

Victory’s home ground of AAMI Park has now been confirmed as the venue for the hotly anticipated clash between the two Victorian sides, with the game slated to kick off at 7:35pm AEST on Saturday, October 10.

Melbourne Victory defeated fierce Isuzu UTE A-League rivals Sydney FC 2-0 at Jubilee Oval in Sydney to book their spot in the decider.

NPL VIC powerhouse South Melbourne FC then sealed their spot in the final for the first time in club history after coming from behind to defeat Queensland Lions FC 3-1 at Lakeside Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Victory are out to lift their third Australia Cup trophy having tasted glory in 2015 and 2021, both at AAMI Park, whilst they also finished runners-up at AAMI Park to Macarthur FC in 2024.

“An all-Victorian Final between South Melbourne FC and Melbourne Victory FC is an exciting way to conclude the Hahn Australia Cup 2026,” Football Australia Chief Executive Officer Martin Kuegler said.

“Both clubs have proud histories and passionate supporter bases, and AAMI Park provides a fantastic stage for the occasion.

“This year’s competition has again showcased the depth of Australian football, with South Melbourne reaching a maiden Final and Melbourne Victory progressing to a fourth decider.

Football Australia Executive Director of Football, Heather Garriock added: “The Hahn Australia Cup has been a significant addition to the Australian football calendar since its inception in 2014, and it’s meant a lot to the NPL and community clubs across the country.

“To have such a historic club taking on one of the A-League’s most successful clubs in the final, especially in a local derby, is a watershed moment for the Australia Cup.

“It will be the perfect culmination of another wonderful Australia Cup, where 777 clubs across Australia have competed, and we’ve witnessed some amazing matches to this point.”
