Macarthur Bulls have added a number nine to their attacking unit ahead of the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season, signing Socceroos striker Apostolos Stamatelopoulos
The 27-year-old returns to the A-Leagues after leaving Scottish Premiership side Motherwell last week.
Stamatelopoulos spent the second half of the 2025/26 Isuzu UTE A-League season back in the league on loan at Sydney FC where he helped the Sky Blues reach the Grand Final, scoring three goals in 14 matches.

The Bulls’ new number nine previously represented Adelaide United, Western United and Newcastle Jets in the Isuzu UTE A-League, with his performances in the Hunter earning him a maiden Socceroos cap in 2024 as he finished the campaign with 17 goals in 25 appearances.
“I’m really excited to be here, meet all the boys and staff, and get straight into work,” Stamatelopoulos said after signing his new deal.
“I’m looking forward to the season ahead and helping the team have a successful year.
“After speaking with the club and hearing about the direction they’re heading in, it felt like a really good fit for me.
“I’m excited by the opportunity and what the club wants to achieve this season.
“For me, it was about joining somewhere ambitious where I can contribute and enjoy my football.
“As a striker, obviously I want to score goals and create chances, but I also want to work hard for the team and bring a lot of energy up front.

He added: “I’ll give everything every time I’m on the pitch, and hopefully I can score plenty of goals and give the fans some good moments this season.”
Stamatelopoulos becomes Macarthur’s twelfth signing of the off-season and joins the likes of Kosta Grozos, Ryan Fraser, and Musa Toure in heading to Sydney’s southwest.
The Bulls will also have a new Head Coach for season 2026/27 with former Socceroo and Sydney FC defender Sasa Ognenovski taking charge of the club following the departure of former boss Mile Sterjovski.
Macarthur begin their 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign with a home clash against Perth Glory on Saturday, October 17.
