Murphy Agnew is back in the Ninja A-League for a second stint after joining Brisbane Roar.
The 27-year-old joins Brisbane Roar after a season in the French top division at Strasbourg, playing against powerhouse clubs like OL Lyonnes and Paris Saint-Germain.

Prior to that Agnew played for iconic Scottish outfit Glasgow Celtic in 2023/24, winning the SWPL 1 title and featuring in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The 2026/27 Ninja A-League season will be Agnew’s second in Australia, having played for the Newcastle Jets in 2022/23 making 16 appearances and scoring one goal.
A Pennsylvania native, Agnew began her senior career at Harvard University before moving
into professional football with Þróttur Reykjavík in Iceland in 2022.
“I’m really looking forward to be back playing in Australia and I’m excited to be a part of this team,” Agnew said.
“This club has a fantastic fanbase and I can’t wait to be playing for the Roar in front of all the incredible fans.
Brisbane Roar women’s head coach Johnathan Clemente was excited by Agnew’s skill set.
“Murphy’s experience in Europe speaks for itself,” Clemente said.
“She brings goals, assists, pace, and flexibility across our front line and has proven that in the UEFA Champions League. I’m excited to see what she can do back in Australia,”
Brisbane Roar kick off their 2026/27 Ninja A-League campaign against Central Coast Mariners on Saturday October 17 at Spencer Park.
