Western Sydney Wanderers has on Tuesday afternoon announced that Rhianna Pollicina will join the club on a two-season deal.
Rhianna Pollicina has returned to the Western Sydney Wanderers, the club she first represented during the 2014/15 season before developing her career in the NSW NPL Women’s competition.
She returned to the top flight with the Newcastle Jets in 2020/21, earning the club’s A-League Women Player of the Year award. Pollicina then moved to Melbourne City for the 2021/22 season, becoming one of the competition’s leading attacking midfielders. Over four seasons at City, she made 85 appearances and scored 29 goals — the third-highest tally in the club’s women’s history — while helping the side to consecutive Premierships and earning three PFA Team of the Season selections.

Pollicina spent the 2025/26 Ninja A-League season with Melbourne Victory, scoring seven goals, before completing her move back to Western Sydney.
Football Director Mal Impiombato described the signing as a major boost for the Wanderers.
“Rhianna is a proven performer in this competition and someone who has consistently demonstrated her quality over a number of seasons”.
“She brings creativity, goals and significant experience and leadership, but importantly she also understands what it takes to win football matches and represent the Western Sydney football community.
“Having started her journey with the Wanderers, it is fantastic to welcome Rhianna back to the club and we believe she can play an important role in what we are building.”

Head coach Geoff Abrahams said Pollicina’s experience and attacking quality would add a new dimension to the squad.
“Rhianna has established herself as one of the most dangerous attacking players in the competition and we’re really excited to have her joining our group,” said Abrahams.
“Rhianna also has a genuine connection to Western Sydney and this club, and we’re looking forward to seeing her back in Red & Black and contributing to the team this season.”
For Pollicina, the move marks a significant moment in her career.
“It’s a very special moment”.
“It’s a full circle moment for me as I started my career for the Wanderers and I’m just very grateful to be back in Western Sydney as it’s home for me,” said Pollicina.
“I’m excited as an experienced player in the league to help the youth coming through. We have got some quality young players. There’s a bright future at this club and you can see with all their academy teams success and it’s coming right through to the A-League.”
