Auckland FC have confirmed winger Marlee Francois has departed the club following the expiration of his contract.
The former Australia Under-23 international joined the Black Knights midway through their inaugural campaign and went on to make 32 appearances across two seasons.
Francois played his part in a trophy-laden spell at the club, with one of his standout moments coming when he scored directly from a corner against Perth Glory as Auckland secured the Premiers Plate during the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign.

The 23-year-old’s second season was disrupted by injury, with a foot issue sustained in Sydney in February ultimately ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Reflecting on his time at the club, Francois thanked teammates, staff and supporters after bringing his Auckland stint to an end.
“It’s tough leaving a great group of people here in Auckland. We’ve won two trophies together and created a lot of special memories that will stay with me forever,” said François.
“I will look back fondly, but god willing, there will be more special moments ahead of me and memories to be made.”
Auckland FC Director of Football Terry McFlynn paid tribute to Francois’ contribution during the club’s first two seasons.
“Marlee’s been a great professional, great in the dressing room with his teammates, and we wish him and his family the very best for the future.”

The reigning Champions are currently in the process of revamping their squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Francois now becomes the eighth player to have left the club in the off-season following on from departures such as Jesse Randall, Guillermo May, and Dan Hall.
Furthermore, the Auckland Football Department are currently in the process of recruiting a new Head Coach following the departure of Steve Corica, who left to join J1 League side Yokohama F. Marinos.
The Black Knights have been active in the transfer market though, signing New Zealand international midfielder Lachlan Bayliss on a three-year deal following his departure from Newcastle Jets.
