Auckland FC forward Logan Rogerson has been drafted into New Zealand’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad as an injury replacement ahead of their opening game against Iran.
Rogerson, 28, got the call to replace Peterborough United’s Matthew Garbett, who picked up an injury during training.

Whilst Rogerson won’t feature in their Group G opener against Iran in Los Angeles on Tuesday, he will be available for their Matchday 2 clash with Egpyt.
“Matty’s a good mate of mine and I am really gutted for him,” said Rogerson, after receiving confirmation he’d be in the squad.

“It’s a weird feeling to be honest, slightly conflicted as I am also buzzing to get out there and meet up with the team.”
Auckland FC CEO Nick Becker added: “This is great news for Logan. Making the squad has been an aim of his since he joined the club, and he was unfortunate to miss out originally.
“Now he is there, I can guarantee he will give his all for the team, and everyone at the club wishes him and his teammates the very best.”
