Perth Glory hand exciting young gun new new two-year contract

Sebastian Despotovski will be staying in Western Australia after the attacking midfielder put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal.

Now 20, the former Inglewood United and Bayswater City junior progressed through the ranks of the Perth Glory Academy before making his Isuzu UTE A-League debut in the final game of the 2024-25 campaign.

The following season he proceeded to establish himself as a first-team regular, opening his goalscoring account for the club with a match-winning effort against Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 7 and finishing the season with three goals and one assist from 13 starts.

“Seb is a naturally talented footballer who can influence the game from a number of positions,” said Perth Glory Director, Stan Lazaridis.

“He brings the kind of creative flair that our Members and fans love to see and it was great to see him step up and showcase his skills regularly in the A-League last season.

“Like all our young players, he still has plenty to learn, but there is no doubt in my mind that he has a very high ceiling and we’re really excited to watch his development continue over the next couple of years.”

Despotovski is now the third player to have inked a new deal with the club in the past seven days.

Perth Glory Head Coach Adam Griffiths

Young midfielder Giovanni De Abreu signed on for the next two Isuzu UTE A-League seasons after enjoying a breakout campaign with the side.

Meanwhile forward Stefan Colacovski will also be staying in Western Australia after agreeing terms on a new one-year deal.

All three player re-signings follow on from the news that Head Coach Adam Griffiths will also be staying at the club having signed a new two-year contract.
