Western Sydney Wanderers have on Friday announced that Gary van Egmond’s tenure at the club will come to an end this weekend.
Western Sydney Wanderers coach Gary van Egmond has made the personal decision to step away from the club at the conclusion of his tenure as head coach, with Saturday night’s fixture marking his final match in charge of the Isuzu UTE A-League team.

Van Egmond communicated his decision with the intention of allowing the incoming Head Coach and football staff the space to begin shaping the next phase of the club’s football program.

Throughout a challenging period for the club, van Egmond has been widely respected for his professionalism, commitment and steady leadership, providing stability during a time of transition.

Western Sydney Wanderers CEO Scott Hudson thanked Gary for his contribution and commitment to the club.
“Gary has been the ultimate professional during what has been a difficult period for the club,” said Hudson.
