Fast becoming a dependable option for Newcastle boss Mark Milligan, Bertolissio is now locked in with the Jets until the end of the 2027-28 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign and he couldn’t be happier.

“I’m absolutely delighted to commit my future to the Jets,” said the 22-year-old, after inking his new deal.

“I have loved every moment since I signed here. I feel that my football has gone to another level under Mark this season and I’m determined to push even further.”

Bertolissio played the full 90 minutes on Sunday as the Jets defeated Macarthur Bulls 1-0 at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Currently sat four points clear at the top of the Isuzu UTE A-League, Milligan’s side will be looking to extend that lead and with it their eight-game winning run when they face local rivals Central Coast Mariners in the F3 Derby this weekend.

“We are happy to have Joel re-sign for a further two seasons,” said Milligan after news of the Bertolissio’s contract extension was confirmed.

“His work rate and attitude have been fantastic since he has joined, and we are excited to see him further improve in our environment.

“He is a player with much more to grow into and I’m delighted he has taken this opportunity.”
