Brisbane Roar will be without coach Michael Valkanis for at least this weekend’s match, after a family member has taken ill in Greece.

Brisbane Roar Football Club wishes to inform members and fans that A-League Men’s Head Coach Michael Valkanis has been granted personal leave today to return to Greece following an emergency family medical situation.
Assistant Coach Borja Lema will assume responsibility for the team and lead the side in Friday night’s match against Perth Glory.
The club’s thoughts are with Michael, Dimitri and the Valkanis family at this time, and we look forward to welcoming Michael back when appropriate. Everyone at Brisbane Roar will fight to win in Perth in support of Michael and his family.
