New Melbourne Victory forward Charles Nduka

Melbourne Victory has signed striker Charles Nduka from Japanese side Kagoshima United.

Nduka has signed for the remainder of the 2052/26 Isuzu UTE A-League season, and will be available to play when the transfer window opens on Wednesday, January 14.

The 27-year-old – who has a Japanese mother, a Nigerian father, and a brother who plays for Yokohama FC – joined Kagoshima in 2024 after stints with FC Gifu and YSCC Yokohama.

Victory head coach Arthur Diles said he’s looking forward to Nduka bolstering the club’s attacking stocks.

“I am really excited to be adding Charles to our attack at Victory, and we look forward to him quickly integrating with the group and making his mark in the A-League,” Diles said on the club website.

“He brings a different profile to our forward line, which both complements and bolsters the existing attacking options in our men’s squad.”

Nduka himself also spoke to the Victory website about his move there.

“It is a real honour to be joining the Club and playing in the A-League for the first time in my career,” he said.

“Melbourne Victory has an amazing tradition of success. I am very excited to be a part of that, and I hope we can add to it this season, and I can contribute to driving success for the team.”

The first match that Nduka will be available for is Victory’s trip to face Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium on Saturday January 17.
