Adelaide United winger Dylan Pierias learns his fate after MRP review of Round 5 red card

Adelaide United’s Dylan Pierias has received a one-match ban from Football Australia’s independent Match Review Panel (MRP) for a red card offence against Melbourne City in Round 5 of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 season.

Pierias was issued a straight red card in the first half of Adelaide’s 4-1 win over City at Coopers Stadium, for a challenge on City midfielder Andreas Kuen.

Referee Shaun Evans reviewed the incident on the pitchside monitor but upheld his original decision to send Pierias off.

The independent MRP – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Rhali Dobson and Con Diomis – convened on Monday afternoon to consider the incident and concluded Pierias had committed the offence of “Serious Unsporting Conduct”.

Pierias received a one-match ban – the minimum sanction for the offence – ruling him out of Adelaide’s Round 6 clash with Wellington Phoenix.

Pierias will be eligible for selection in Adelaide’s match against Brisbane Roar FC on Sunday, 7 December 2025.
