Match Review Panel delivers verdict after chaotic New Zealand Derby

Football Australia’s independent Match Review Panel (MRP) has confirmed suspensions for Auckland FC pair Dan Hall and Logan Rogerson following last week’s New Zealand Derby in the Isuzu UTE A-League.

Hall and Rogerson were both sent off for Auckland as the nine-man reigning premiers held on to beat rivals Wellington Phoenix 2-1 in a chaotic showdown at Sky Stadium.

Auckland defender Hall was sent off in the 49th minute for “denying the opposing team an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, as prescribed in Law 12 of the Laws of the Game”. As a result, the star defender will serve a one-match ban and will miss the November 23 match against Brisbane Roar.

Rogerson was dismissed for a high challenge, which was deemed “serious foul play” by the MRP.

The MRP proposed Rogerson serve a suspension of two matches being the Mandatory Match Suspension plus one one additional match. He has until 2:00pm (AEDT) on Tuesday, 11 November 2025 to advise Football Australia whether he wishes to refer the matter to the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee.
