Sydney FC are back into second on the Isuzu UTE A-League ladder after a hard-fought 2-0 win over Macarthur Bulls at Leichhardt Oval.
After a first half at Leichhardt Oval that had few clear-cut chances, the game burst into life with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Following a period of sustained pressure, Sydney FC eventually broke the deadlock in the 76th minute as midfielder Paul Okon-Engstler curled an inviting delivery into the box, which was headed home by central defender Marcel Tisserand – his first goal since 2020.

Macarthur wasted a glorious chance to level the scores in the 81st minute as midfielder Liam Rose blazed over from close range after good work from Sime Grzan, whilst substitute Ji Dong-won then sent an acrobatic effort into the side-netting soon after.
The home side then killed off the visitors’ hopes late in the game as substitute Patrick Wood laid one on a plate for Sky Blues star Joe Lolley to side-foot home from inside the box and seal all three points in the 93rd minute.
The win moves Sydney FC back into second on the ladder after securing their third win in a row in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
