Andrew Nabbout made his long-awaited comeback from injury in Melbourne City’s 0-0 draw with Brisbane Roar in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
But after a 361-day absence, the 32-year-old came off the bench as reigning champions City shared the points against Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

“It’s been a long 12 months,” Nabbout told Paramount+ post-match. “But I felt like I’ve been on the bench last 12 months. I didn’t feel left out.
“I just feel really grateful to be back out there.”
Nabbout was also in the thick of some push-and-shove as tempers threatened to boil over in Brisbane, where City teenager Besian Kutleshi became City’s youngest starter in the Isuzu UTE A-League while Socceroo Mathew Leckie succumbed to injury.
The result also ensured City remain unbeaten through three rounds with one win and two draws, while the Roar have four points to start 2025-26.
