13 A-Leagues stars nominated for illustrious 2025 PFA Footballer of the Year Awards

Thirteen of the A-Leagues’ best-performers of the 2024-25 campaign have been nominated for honours at the 2025 Austraffic Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) Footballer of the Year Awards.

The illustrious annual ceremony honours the best performers in Australian football, with Australian footballers in overseas leagues and all players competing in both the Ninja A-League Women and Isuzu UTE A-League Men eligible for nomination for the player-voted awards.

The nominees are selected based on performances between July 2024 and June 2025, with four awards on offer: Women’s and Men’s Footballer of the Year, and Young Women’s and Men’s Footballer of the Year.

Of the nominees, 13 earned their nomination for their respective performances in the A-Leagues in 2024-25, including 2025 Julie Dolan Medalist Alex Chidiac, and 2025 Johnny Warren Medalist Nicolas MIlanovic.

Archie Goodwin is one of seven Isuzu UTE A-League stars nominated for PFA awards.

PFA Chief Executive Beau Busch said the 2025 PFA Footballer of the Year Awards nominees “reflect the depth and quality of Australian football talent, both at home and abroad.”

“These players have not only delivered outstanding performances on the pitch but have also continued to inspire the next generation through their professionalism and passion for the game,” Busch added.

The nominees were selected by an expert panel of former players and media representatives, with the final winners to be determined by a vote of PFA members.
