Australia Cup semi-final ties confirmed: Who A-Leagues pair will face in pursuit of silverware

Newcastle Jets and Auckland FC are one step away from the 2025 Hahn Australia Cup final and this is the path to the tournament decider for the two Isuzu UTE A-League clubs.

The Jets are through to the Australia Cup semi-finals for the first time in their history after dethroning defending champions Macarthur FC 3-0 in the quarter-finals, while debutants Auckland FC outlasted Sydney FC 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out.

Reward for their efforts are trips to Melbourne for both teams as Newcastle and Auckland prepare to go up against NPLM VIC’s top-two sides.

In the first semi-final at Olympic Village on Saturday, reigning Isuzu UTE A-League premiers Auckland visit giant-slaying Heidelberg United, who have stunned Western Sydney Wanderers and Wellington Phoenix en route to the final four with ex-Western United assistant John Anastasiadis at the helm.

Then on Sunday, Mark Milligan’s Newcastle go head-to-head with NPLM VIC premiers Avondale FC at Avenger Park, where former Western United and Central Coast Mariners forward Manyluak Aguek has spearheaded their campaign with an Australia Cup-best six goals so far.
