Football Australia’s independent Match Review Panel (MRP) has handed a one-game suspension to Western United midfielder Jordan Lauton and Brisbane Roar defender Hosine Bility after the two players received indirect red cards in Round 12 of the Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Bility received two cautions in the second half of his side’s 3-1 defeat to Central Coast Mariners on Friday night – one for a challenge on Mariners defender Brian Kaltak before an 89th-minute offence on Ryan Edmondson which saw the young defender receive his second yellow card and a subsequent red.
Bility will miss Brisbane’s midweek clash with Newcastle Jets at Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday, January 7 before being available for selection again when the Roar travel to face Melbourne City on January 11.
Lauton, meanwhile, was sent off for receiving two yellow cards in Western United’s dramatic 3-2 win over Perth Glory.
The 21-year-old came off the bench in the second half and received his first caution before scoring a 95th-minute equaliser, after which he took off his shirt in celebration and was booked for the second time in the game as a result.
Lauton will miss Western’s midweek clash with Melbourne City on Tuesday, January 7 before being available for selection in his side’s clash with Melbourne Victory on Friday, January 10.

The MRP have also proposed a two-game ban for Newcastle Jets defender Natasha Prior after a red card received in her side’s Round 10 Ninja A-League clash with Western United.
The MRP – consisting of Alan Davidson (Acting Chair), Con Diomis and Rhali Dobson – convened on Monday afternoon to consider the red card received by Prior in the 90th minute of her side’s 2-0 loss to Western at Ironbark Fields on Friday night.
After review of the incident, the MRP determined the defender committed the offence of: “Use of offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures” – an offence that carries a one-game minimum suspension.
The MRP has proposed Prior serve a two-game suspension for the offence, which would rule the centre-back out of action for the Jets’ Ninja A-League upcoming games against Adelaide United on Wednesday, January 8 and Melbourne Victory on Saturday, January 11.
Prior has until 2pm AEDT on Tuesday, January 7 to advise Football Australia whether she wishes to refer the matter to the independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee.
