Auckland FC dealt injury blow with star signing sidelined: ‘I’m not sure how long’

Auckland FC head coach Steve Corica revealed Dan Hall is facing an indefinite period on the sidelines after breaking a bone in his ankle.

Hall was one of three big outs for Auckland in Sunday’s dramatic 2-2 draw away to Melbourne City at AAMI Park in the Isuzu UTE A-League, along with Cam Howieson and Louis Verstraete.

After history-making leaders Auckland dropped points for the first time despite Neyder Moreno’s 95th-minute equaliser, Corica provided an update on Championship-winning defender Hall and his two teammates.

“Dan, he will be out for I’m not sure how long yet,” Corica told reporters.

“He has broken a bone in his ankle, so he will be out for a little bit longer.”

On Howieson and Verstraete as Auckland prepare to host Western United in Round 9 on Saturday, Corica added: “Louis has a sore back. I think he should be back next week hopefully.

“Cam has done his calf so he will be out for five weeks.”
