Sydney, Gold Coast and Perth have been selected as host cities for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in 2026, with five venues across the three states confirmed to stage the 12-team continental tournament.
Football Australia has confirmed Stadium Australia, Western Sydney Stadium, Gold Coast Stadium and two Perth venues – Perth Rectangular Stadium and Perth Stadium – as the five venues for the tournament taking place between March 1-21, 2026, after a meeting of the AFC Women’s Football Committee in Kuala Lumpur this week.
The 2026 tournament will be the first Women’s Asian Cup staged in Australia since 2006, and follows on from the nation’s co-hosting of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in which football fever swept the nation as the CommBank Matildas surged to the semi-finals in Australia’s best-ever finish at a World Cup, men’s or women’s.

Two of the five venues selected to host the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup staged World Cup matches in 2023: Perth Rectangular Stadium and Stadium Australia in Sydney. It’s the second time in the history of the Women’s Asian Cup that tournament fixtures will feature games hosted in World Cup venues.
