A-Leagues side farewell former star after ‘outstanding’ coaching tenure

Macarthur Bulls announced the departure of Bulls FC Academy Men’s head coach Craig Noone.

Former Isuzu UTE A-League star Noone will return to the United Kingdom for personal reasons following an “outstanding” tenure in charge of Macarthur’s senior youth team.

The 36-year-old Englishman, who retired from professional football at the end of 2022-23 following a career spanning 18 years, fell agonisingly short of promotion to NPLM NSW following a two-legged relegation/promotion play-off against Central Coast Mariners.

A former Plymouth Argyle, Brighton and Hove Albion, Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers winger, Noone arrived in the A-Leagues via Melbourne City in 2019.

He spent two years at City and won a Championship and Premiership before linking up with Macarthur in 2021, where he scored five goals in 44 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances and claimed the 2022 Australia Cup.

In 2023, Noone secured his first coaching gig after replacing Zeljko Kalac at the Bulls following their relegation from NPLM NSW.
