Round 2 Ins & Outs: Arzani named as two Socceroos push for Melbourne Derby return

Total A-Leagues | Round 1 Talking Points

The squads are IN ahead of Round 2 of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season!

Melbourne Victory head coach Patrick Kisnorbo has included Daniel Arzani in his squad for Saturday’s Melbourne Derby at AAMI Park.

The Subway Socceroos forward missed Round 1 through suspension and was left out of Victory’s squad for September’s Australia Cup final against Macarthur, with Kisnorbo deciding instead to utilise the options he had on hand for the opening round of the Isuzu UTE A-League season.

Arzani has been promoted to a Victory squad without its captain Roderick Miranda for Saturday’s derby at AAMI Park due to the centre-back’s suspension following a red card in Round 1.

Melbourne City’s James Jeggo is also suspended for the derby but City have received a boost of their own with Socceroo Mathew Leckie included after a quad injury sidelined him for Round 1.

Around the league, ex-Perth Glory forward Stefan Colakovski could make his Wellington Phoenix debut against his former side this weekend, having travelled to Perth with the Wellington squad ahead of Saturday night’s encounter between the two sides.

Adelaide United had the bye in Round 1 and ahead of their first game of the 2024-25 season, head coach Carl Veart has named exciting young recruit Archie Goodwin among his 20-player squad.
