Perth Glory unveil new captains for 2024-25 A-Leagues season

Adam Taggart will lead Perth Glory into the Isuzu UTE A-League Men season, while Isobel Dalton and Onyinyechi Zogg have been appointed co-captains of the Ninja A-League Women’s side.

Subway Socceroos star and 2023-24 Golden Boot winner Taggart will skipper hometown club the Glory during the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League captain, having shared the armband with former defender Mark Beevers last season.

Taggart scored 20 goals in 25 appearances to claim his second A-Leagues Golden Boot, while the Australia international also took home the club’s Most Glorious Player, Players’ Player of the Year and Members’ Player of the Year awards.

Dalton and new signing Zogg will share the captaincy in Perth’s Ninja A-League team.

The 27-year-old Dalton scored one goal in 19 matches in her debut season for the Glory, who signed Nigeria international Zogg this off-season.

“We’re thrilled to confirm Adam, Isobel and Onyinyechi as our captains for the new season,” said Glory CEO Anthony Radich.

“In addition to being top-quality performers in their respective positions, all three are excellent characters who have demonstrated strong leadership skills and attributes.

“They will provide exactly the kind of guidance that our young, dynamic, new-look ALM and ALW squads need, while also playing a key role in spearheading our efforts to reengage with the local football community and reignite Glory in 2024-25.”

David Zdrilic’s Isuzu UTE A-League team will kick-off their 2024-25 campaign away to Macarthur FC on Sunday.

Stephen Peters’ Ninja A-League outfit begin their season away to reigning premiers Melbourne City on November 3.
