Perth Glory head coach Stephen Peters has added a familiar face to his Ninja A-League squad, signing Japanese midfielder Miku Sunaga from NPLW NSW side Macarthur Rams.
Sunaga, 29, was named NPLW NSW Player of the Year in 2024 after a superb individual campaign in a Macarthur team that secured their third consecutive Championship under Peters, who departed the Rams to take on a Ninja A-League head coach role for the first time in his career.

Peters awarded Sunaga the Rams’ Coach’s Player of the Year Award for her role in securing the NPLW three-peat and, having signed his Macarthur star ahead of the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season, has backed the midfielder to become an important player in the Australian top-flight.
“Miku is a talented playmaker who gives us so much attacking versatility as she can play as an inverted winger, a number ten, or even as a false nine,” he said.
“We’ve worked closely together for the past three years so she is well attuned to my coaching style and principles.
“Miku has a great level of humility and discipline and I’m confident that she will prove to be an excellent addition to our squad.”
Sunaga could make her Glory debut when her new side takes on the Gold Fields WA Women’s State Team at Dorrien Gardens on Sunday in the Challenge Cup.
The versatile midfielder is the 14th new arrival in Perth ahead of Peters’ first season as head coach, joining Gabby Hollar, Naomi Chinnama, Ella Abdul-Massih, Sarah O’Donoghue, Tijan McKenna, Ischia Brooking, Onyinyechi Zogg, Kelli Brown, Megan Wynne, Miranda Templeman, Jessica Skinner, Natalie Tathem and Casey Dumont at the WA club.
