Adelaide United have lured Fiona Worts back to Coopers Stadium to reunite with Chelsie Dawber for the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season.
Worts – the 2021-22 Julie Dolan Medallist – returns to Adelaide on a one-year deal following a stint with champions Sydney FC last season.
Fellow forward and hometown star Dawber has also re-signed for the upcoming season.

Worts and Dawber lead all-time goalscoring charts for Adelaide’s Ninja A-League side, with 41 goals between them.
“We’re thrilled that Chelsie has committed to the club for another year and Fiona has returned home to us,” said Adelaide’s head of football Marius Zanin.
“They are talented players with a proven track record, and their passion for the team and the game is undeniable.
“We believe they will both continue to play crucial roles for us this season, and we look forward to seeing their impact on the field once again.”
Worts joined Adelaide ahead of the 2020-21 season and went on to score 18 goals in 39 appearances.
She broke out in 2021-22, bagging 13 goals in 14 regular-season games as the Englishwoman won the Golden Boot and claimed the Julie Dolan Medal.
“Adelaide has a special place in my heart, and I know this is the right place for me to be at this stage of my career,” said Worts, who scored three goals in six matches for Sydney in 2023-24 before injury cut short her season.
“I’m proud to continue my journey here and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.”
Dawber returned to Coopers Stadium last term after a two-year stint with Chicago Red Stars in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States
The 24-year-old, who won Adelaide’s Golden Boot in 2021-22, scored two goals in 12 appearances in 2023-24.
