Manchester United complete deal for A-Leagues youngster

Australian teenager James Overy is officially a Manchester United player.

Former Perth Glory youngster Overy has joined United’s Under-18 academy team after the Premier League and Football Association finally approved the transfer.

Overy has also updated his Instagram bio to list himself as a United player via a scholarship contract.

The 17-year-old sensation and Glory academy product had been tipped to join the Premier League giants since May but both the player and club were waiting on clearance.

Overy caught the eye following his performance for Isuzu UTE A-League side Perth in a friendly against Premier League outfit West Ham in July 2023.

Like Subway Socceroos and Parma defender Alessandro Circati, Overy leaves the Glory without making a senior appearance for the A-League side.
