Brisbane Roar have announced the signing of Indonesian attacker Rafael Struick from Dutch side ADO Den Haag ahead of the upcoming Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The 21-year-old, who can operate as a number nine or on either flank, is regarded as one Indonesian football’s brightest talents and moves to the Queenslanders on a free transfer.

Born in the Netherlands, Struick graduated through the ADO Den Haag academy and featured three times this season in the Dutch second division before sealing his switch to the Roar.
“I’m happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started,” said the Indonesian international.
“Brisbane is a very big club, playing in a very strong competition. I’m excited to play in the A-League and make this move to the other side of the world to make a step outside of my comfort zone.
He added: “I want to help the team as much as possible with my qualities, to score goals and provide assists.”

A regular with the Indonesian national team under current head coach and former Roar man Shin Tae-Yong, Struick has amassed 14 appearances for the senior side, the most recent of which came against the Subway Socceroos during their recent 0-0 draw in 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup qualification.
The 21-year-old forward also shone for Indonesia at the Under-23 AFC Asian Cup earlier this year, scoring two against South Korea in what was a memorable win to help his side reach the Semi-Finals.
Struick will wear the number seven shirt this coming season and becomes Brisbane Roar’s eighth signing of the off-season.
Furthermore, the club has also managed to tie down the future of goalkeeper Macklin Freke until 2026 whilst they also re-signed Keegan Jelacic on another season-long loan from Belgian side K.A.A Gent.
