Canberra United have re-signed talented young forward Sofia Christopherson for the 2024-25 Liberty A-League season.
Christopherson has been rewarded after her breakout campaign in the nation’s capital last term.
The 20-year-old scored her first A-Leagues goal in 2023-24 and has amassed 30 appearances heading into her third season with Canberra.
“I’m delighted to be back at Canberra United for another season,” said Christopherson.
“I supported the club as kid and have loved being a part of the squad for the last two seasons.
“I can’t wait to get back on to the field at McKellar Park. Scoring my first professional goal at home in front of our fans was a dream come true.
“I’m looking forward to more moments like that this season.”
Christopherson is the third player to re-commit to Canberra after Ruby Nathan and Hayley Taylor-Young, while Sally James has signed for the club.
“Sofia is no stranger to the team, having been a key part of the squad for the past two seasons,” said Canberra United head coach Antoni Jagarinec.
“She is a player that has speed and a natural ability to find the goal or deliver that killer pass to her teammate.
“Her aggressiveness in the tackle, sheer determination, and will-to-win are highly desirable characteristics for me, and she will be a big part of my plans in 2024-25.”
