Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers will clash in an all-A-Leagues showdown after the draw for the 2024 Australia Cup quarter-finals was locked in.
Following the conclusion of Wednesday night’s Round-of-16 fixtures, four Isuzu UTE A-League sides remain in the hunt to lift the season’s first piece of silverware.
Carl Veart’s three-time champions Adelaide booked their spot in the quarter-finals care of a hard-fought 3-2 win over NPLM WA outfit Olympic Kingsway while the Wanderers breezed past NPLM QLD club Lions FC 4-0 – with the two sides now pitted against one another in a mouth-watering clash at Coopers Stadium.

On Wednesday night, Patrick Kisnorbo’s strong start to life as Melbourne Victory boss continued in style as they brushed aside NPLM NSW team NWS Spirit 4-0.
Goals from Ryan Teague, new signing Nikos Vergos and a double from Nishan Velupillay saw Victory cruise past the side who finished 10th in NPLM NSW this season and they’ll now face NPLM QLD’s Moreton City Excelsior, who reached the last eight after knocking out 10-man Perth Glory 3-2.
Awaiting 2022 winners Macarthur FC in the quarter-finals will be current NPLM VIC semi-finalists Oakleigh Cannons after they defeated fellow Victorian side Heidelberg United 4-1 on penalties.
The quarter-final ties will be played over five days from September 11 – 15, with dates and venues to be confirmed.
