Central Coast Mariners have confirmed Chinese international Wurigumula has departed the club to return to Changchun Dazhong WFC following the conclusion of her loan deal.
Wurigumula became a fan favourite through her maiden Liberty A-League season at the Mariners; the 28-year-old scored eight goals in 2023-24 and played a key role in helping Emily Husband’s side reach the Semi-Finals in the club’s first season back in the competition in 15 years.
Her eight-goal campaign was enough to seal Wurigumula the Mariners’ Golden Boot as well as the club’s Fan’s Player of the Year award at the end of the campaign.
Mariners coach Husband lauded Wurigumula’s impact on the Central Coast in 2023-24 ahead of her return to the Chinese Women’s Super League with Changchun Dazhong.
“Wurigumula played an important role in our first season back, scoring crucial goals that helped us achieve what we did,” Husband said.
“Not only did she help us greatly on the pitch, but she was also an incredible person off it.
“Everyone at the Mariners thanks Wurigumula for her contributions during our return season and wish her the very best as she returns to the Chinese Women’s Super League.”
