Western Sydney Wanderers have retained the services of highly-rated teenager Talia Younis, extending the 15-year-old’s stay in Wanderland for another Liberty A-League campaign.
Younis made her domestic debut for the club in the 2023-24 season and at the time, was the youngest-ever debutant in league history.
That record was broken by former Wanderers teammate Ischia Brooking just two weeks later; Brooking has since moved on to Perth Glory but Younis has decided to recommit to the club she first joined aged 13.

Younis made 15 appearances for the Wanderers in her first season with the senior squad, and her club form led to selection in the CommBank Junior Matildas squad for the AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup in May.
After signing a one-season extension with the Wanderers, Younis thanked the club’s coaching staff, led by head coach Robbie Hooker, for providing her first-team opportunities and a fresh contract to continue her development in red and black.
“It was obviously an honour to make my debut for this club, I’ve been at the club since I was 13. I am very grateful, and grateful to the coaches for giving me this playing opportunity,” said Younis.
“Whether starting or coming on, it was just a really good opportunity to get my name out there and try the best I can.
“It wasn’t too hard to settle in with the team, it’s a great bunch of girls and top players. It’s easy to play with high quality players.
“I want to thank my family for all their support and sacrifice that they’ve made for me to reach my dreams and I want to thank the coaches, everyone who has given me the opportunity to grow as a player.”
Younis is the fifth player to re-sign for the Wanderers this off-season alongside Gemma Ferris, Ella Buchanan, Amy Harrison and Julie Dolan Medalist Sophie Harding.
Wanderers coach Hooker says he’s excited to continue guiding Younis through her development as a young footballer in the 2024-25 Liberty A-League season.
“We are very proud to be working with Talia for another season as she has undeniable talent,” said Hooker.
“She has grown so much in her first season of the Liberty A-League competition and we will continue to support her growth and development at the club this coming season.”
