Perth Glory have re-signed defensive quartet Izzy Foletta, Grace Johnston, Bella Wallhead and Mischa Anderson ahead of the 2024-25 Liberty A-League season.
New Glory head coach Stephen Peters has significantly bolstered the strength of his squad’s defensive stocks with the announcement, securing the services of four homegrown players for another campaign.
Foletta, 24, has signed on for a fifth season at the Western Australian club and will look to build on her 36 Liberty A-League appearances for Glory in Peters’ first season at the helm.
Nineteen-year-old Johnston has re-committed to the club after her maiden senior campaign in 2023-24 and is joined by fellow teenager Anderson who is yet to debut for the first team, but will take confidence into 2024-25 after a stint at NPLW WA side Perth RedStar in the off-season.
Wallhead meantime re-signs for Glory after spending last season on the sidelines due to injury.
Peters says it’s fantastic to have the four defenders back on board for another season at the club – and his first in charge.
“Izzy is a versatile and hard-working player who brings plenty of experience having played extensively both here in Australia and in Europe, while Grace enjoyed a lot of game time last year and we’ll be looking for her to build on that foundation and push on again in her second senior season,” Peters said.
“Bella and Mischa are also talented defenders who are hungry to establish themselves at ALW level and it’s been pleasing to see Mischa perform so well for Perth RedStar over the last few months.
“Providing a platform for the best WA players to represent their home-state club is a key part of our philosophy and I’m sure our Members and fans will enjoy watching Izzy, Grace, Bella and Mischa do exactly that this season.”
