Melbourne City have signed American attacker Cariel Ellis on a one-year deal heading into the 2024-25 Liberty A-League season.
This represents the first professional contract of the 23-year-old’s career as she arrives from the United States’ college system, where she made 50 appearances across stints with Lamar University (2022-23) and the University of Tennessee (2021).
Ellis starred for Lamar University, scoring 18 goals and supplying a further 12 assists in 34 matches.
“I’m so happy to be joining a club of Melbourne City’s stature,” Ellis said.
“I’ve heard great things about the club, and I can’t wait to meet my new teammates, the fans, and to make a positive impact both on and off the pitch.
“I’m not coming for a holiday. I’m here to win.”
