A familiar face is re-joining Melbourne Victory, with experienced defender Brendan Hamill returning to the Isuzu UTE A-League club after two years away in India.
Hamill has signed a two-year deal with Victory until the end of the 2025-26 season, having departed Indian Super League side Mohun Bagan.
The 31-year-old is back for his second stint at Victory, where he won the Australia Cup during his sole season with the club in 2021-22 before joining Mohun Bagan.
In the ISL, Hamill won the ISL Championship in his maiden season and the Premiership this past campaign.
“I’m excited to be back at Melbourne Victory,” said Hamill, who Josh Rawlins, Jing Reec, Reno Piscopo and Jack Duncan as the club’s new signings.
“After two seasons abroad, now was the right time to return to Australia and I’m excited to work with the team and the coaching staff to push myself even further.
“My last season here was a special one for me and I’m looking forward to achieving the ultimate success with the team this season.”
In 2021-22, Hamill made 19 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances and scored three goals for Victory as the club finished second under Tony Popovic.
Victory lost in the Semi-Finals that season, having conquered Central Coast Mariners in the Australia Cup decider.
After leaving Victory, Hamill teamed up with fellow Aussie Dimitri Petratos as Mohun Bagan won their first ISL Cup in 2022-23.

Hamill was also joined by Socceroo Jason Cummings, who arrived from Central Coast Mariners last season, to help Mohun Bagan clinch the Premiership.
