Newcastle Jets midfielder Kosta Grozos has signed a two-year contract extension with the Isuzu UTE A-League club.
Grozos, 21, enjoyed a stellar season at the Jets in 2023-24. He played in all of Newcastle’s 27 Isuzu UTE A-League fixtures under head coach Rob Stanton and has expressed his delight at recommitting to the club until 2026.
“I feel at home here in Newcastle. I’ve enjoyed my time here and I want to continue my football journey at the club,” he said.
“This season I feel like I have established myself in the team and I’m looking forward to seeing how much more I can further develop as a player and help play a part in the club’s success moving forward.”
The Jets have been busy in the off-season so far, with Grozos the fifth player to re-sign for the club after Noah James, Callum Timmins, Phillip Cancar and Lachlan Bayliss.
Ben van Dorssen, Alex Nunes and Zac Bowling have all signed scholarship contracts whilst Oscar Fryer and Eli Adams have signed from A-Leagues rivals Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory respectively.
Upon re-signing his important midfielder, Jets head coach Rob Stanton praised Grozos for taking his game to new heights in 2023-24.
“Kosta was a standout last season in the way he has developed as a midfielder,” Stanton said.
“He’s worked hard to continue developing and has taken his game to another level. I’m delighted to have him on board at the club for a further two years.”
