Brisbane Roar have added plenty of experience to their midfield ahead of the new Isuzu UTE A-League campaign, signing Lebanon international Walid Shour on a two-year deal.
Originally born in Sierra Leone, Shour was most recently on the books of Lebanese Premier League side Al-Ahed, with whom he contested the recent AFC Cup Final against Central Coast Mariners.
A defensive midfielder by the trade but with the capability to operate at centre-back, the 28-year-old has become a mainstay of the Lebanon national team in recent years, garnering 27 caps for The Cedars, two of which came against the Socceroos during 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup qualifying earlier this year.

“Signing for Brisbane has been one of the easiest decisions I’ve made in my career
so far,” said Shour upon signing his contract with Brisbane Roar.
“Playing for a club of this calibre has always been a dream of mine and after just one conversation with the coach and football director I felt an immediate sense of
belonging. It was clear to me that this was where I wanted to be.
He added: “My goals for the upcoming season are to help the team compete for the league
title and ideally secure some trophies for Brisbane Roar.”
A one-time academy prospect with English Championship side Luton Town, Shour made the move to Lebanon in 2018 and, following spells with Al-Ahed, Racing Beirut and Shabab Sahel, arrives in Queensland having won multiple honours including the AFC Cup in 2019.
Part of the Lebanon squad for the most recent AFC Asian Cup, Shour becomes Brisbane’s sixth new signing of the off-season following the captures of Harry Van Der Saag, Ben Warland, Marcus Ferkranus, Hosine Bility.
