The E-League 2024 regular season has ended with a bang, but there’s no time for our players to rest as the postseason begins this Saturday.
Between the Gauntlet and the double-elimination Playoffs, we’re just weeks away from finding out who will be flying the flag at the FC Pro World Championship later this year!
Melbourne City’s defending E-League champ Mark11 capped off a perfect season with a 3-2 win over the Roar’s Nuggzy and a 5-1 victory against the Wanderers’ Negede, securing the minor premiership with a flawless 11-0 record.
Sydney FC’s Dylan Campbell (9-2) wrapped up his regular season in second place with big wins over Adelaide’s MattBro27 and the Nix’s JMKKing. The 2022 champ kept pace with Mark11 at the beginning of the season but wasn’t as consistent as his Melbourne City rival. Nevertheless, both Mark11 and Dylan receive a well-earned bye for the opening rounds of playoffs and will start the postseason in the third round of the upper bracket on April 26 live and in person.
Our remaining players will hit the ground running this weekend hoping to keep their E-League 2024 dreams alive. Negede, Fadi, Sesto, Saad, Naylor, and Noahja make up the rest of the top eight, with Newcastle’s Noahja scraping home with two crucial wins on the final matchday to start the postseason in the main playoffs.
For our bottom four Contenders, they’ll need to brave the Gauntlet if they want to compete in the E-League playoffs this season. Despite a five-match unbeaten streak, CCM’s Patty will drop into the qualifier with fellow Contenders JMKKing, Nuggzy, and MatttBro27, where they’ll need to overcome our rising Challengers from the secondary division hungry to make a name for themselves against the big boys.
Jets hopeful Daman (9-2) and Sydney FC’s Luan Piuga (9-2) couldn’t be separated by points in the Challenger league, with Macarthur’s Brady (8-2-1) and Perth’s Mystaboom (7-2-2) rounding out the top four. Only two players can progress from the Gauntlet this Saturday, and while they won’t have it easy in the Playoffs against the likes of Fadi and Negede, you certainly can’t count them out.
