In what was a 4:30pm (AEDT) kick off in Victoria, Western United have now moved four points clear at the top of the Liberty A-League after defeating Canberra United 4-2 at City Vista Recreation Reserve.
The attention now turns to Sydney’s South West as Macarthur FC welcome Melbourne City to Campbelltown Sports Stadium knowing a win over City will see them jump into third position in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
Initially slated for a 7:45pm (AEDT) kick off, the game will now start at 8:28pm (AEDT) following a series of lightning strikes in the area.

Hannah Keane opened the scoring against Canberra United 14 seconds after the referee whistled for kick off making it the second-fastest goal in Liberty A-League history.

A penalty from Chloe Logarzo coupled with a Keane header then made it 3-0 before half-time as Canberra looked dead and buried.
Canberra hit back early in the second half to make it 3-1 but another brilliant strike from Hannah Keane sealed her hat-trick, and the points, long before Michelle Heyman’s 95th minute screamer made it 4-2.

Mile Sterjovski’s Macarthur head into tonight’s clash looking to end a run of two games without a win having most recently drawn 2-2 with Newcastle.
The last time these two sides met, Terry Antonis’ 93rd minute penalty prevented the Bulls from leaving AAMI Park with what would have been a statement win as the game finished in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

But with three wins from their last six matches, the Bulls have cemented their spot in the top six and are two wins clear of City heading into what will be the club’s 100th Isuzu UTE A-League fixture.
Sat in seventh place, Aurelio Vidmar’s Melbourne City head into the game looking to end a run of four matches without a win but the good news is they’ve got a good record when it comes to playing Macarthur.
In fact, City have never lost to Mile Sterjovski’s team, winning five and drawing three of their eight meetings. They’ve also scored at least one goal in all of their meetings with the Bulls.
