Mike Mulvey has made his first move in the market by luring left-back Jack Clisby to Central Coast Mariners on a one-year deal.
The 26-year-old joins for the 2018/19 campaign having spent the past two seasons with Western Sydney Wanderers.
Since debuting in the Hyundai A-League over five years ago for Perth Glory, the defender has accrued 97 top-flight appearances during a career that has also included a stint at Melbourne City.

He becomes the first new acquisition of Mulvey’s tenure and will be reunited with former Wanderers and City team-mate Jacob Melling.
“I can’t wait to get started with the Central Coast Mariners,” Clisby said. “I’ve already had the opportunity to visit the club and from the first moment, Mike, Monty and the whole club have been very welcoming.
“ I was shown around the training complex and very impressed with the facilities.
“Once I heard that Mike Mulvey was going to be appointed Head Coach I was very interested.
“I’ve got a few mates throughout the A-League who have played under him and they all have nothing but positive things to say. We’ve seen how successful he was at Brisbane – with him coming to the Mariners it’s a really exciting prospect for the club.

“I wish pre-season started tomorrow to be honest. Mike’s building a great squad, we’ve got plenty of time to gel and it’s something I am really excited to be a part of.
“I’m at a point in my career where I should be hitting peak form and I cannot wait to go out there and prove to everyone what I’m capable of.”
Mulvey hailed Clisby as a valuable asset in the wake of Josh Rose’s retirement.
“Left-sided players are hard to come by and we are delighted to have Jack joining the Mariners this season,” Mulvey said.
“The Mariners have been fortunate enough to admire the work of Josh Rose in that position for many seasons who leaves big shoes to fill.”
Clisby will link up with his new team-mates when the squad report for pre-season in June.
