The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Con Diomis and Alan Davidson – convened on Monday, 2 April 2018 to consider an incident involving Kosta Barbarouses (Barbarouses) in or around the 45th minute of Melbourne Victory’s Hyundai A-League Round 25 Match against Western Sydney Wanderers FC on Saturday, 31 March 2018.
The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Barbarouses was issued with a direct Red Card by the Referee.
The MRP determined that Barbarouses had committed the offence of “Serious unsporting conduct“.
The MRP confirmed that Barbarouses will serve a suspension of one (1) match, being the Minimum Sanction for the offence.
