Sydney FC’s Serbian star Milos Ninkovic has claimed the Hyundai A-League Goal of the Month award for January.
Each month we pick the best strikes from across the league and ask fans to vote for their favourite.
And there’s probably no surprise the Sky Blues playmaker won the vote for his sublime slalom run and finish against the Newcastle Jets in Round 14.
In one of the best individual goals the Hyundai A-League has ever seen, Ninkovic cut a swathe through the heart of the Jets defence after being found by Bobo.
A myriad of fast touches pushed him past the last line of defence and he coolly sent the ball sailing over the oncoming Glen Moss.
Ninkovic’s superb run earned just over 50% of the fan vote, beating out his compatriot from Wellington Phoenix Matija Ljujic (20.5%) and Ross McCormack (11%).
