When you think about the Westfield Matildas and Westfield W-League for the last decade, you can’t help but think of Lisa De Vanna.
The speedy attacker is one of the most talented, passionate and devoted female players Australia has ever produced.
And at the age of 33, De Vanna is still as strong as motivated as ever for both club and country.
We caught up with the Sky Blues striker as part of our “One on One” series, discussing everything from adapting to life in the Harbour City, to young stars of the Westfield W-League and the toughest moment of her career.
“It would have to be [the Olympic Games in] Rio,” she said.
“To walk away from that tournament knowing we were a shot away from potentially winning a medal, the was probably the most difficult point in my career.”
