In a major coup for Melbourne City, the club have signed ex-Wellington Phoenix and Caltex Socceroos playmaker Dario Vidosic.
Just a week after leaving the Kiwi club, Vidosic has signed with City until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 Season, with the option for a further year.
The 30-year-old arrives at City having made 87 Hyundai A-League appearances at Brisbane Roar, Adelaide United, Western Sydney Wanderers and Phoenix, scoring 21 times.
Vidosic is the club’s second signing during the January transfer period, joining defender Harrison Delbridge on the roster.
“Melbourne City’s professional environment and the quality of the playing and coaching groups made this an easy decision for me,” Vidosic said.
“I am looking forward to contributing to the club both on and off the field and to showing the City fans what I am capable of.”
City boss Warren Joyce added: “Dario is a player who will bring a wealth of experience at this level to our front third.
“He has represented the Socceroos over 20 times and played at a high level overseas and we are excited to have him join our squad here in Melbourne.”
Vidosic will wear the number 10 jersey for City, with his first match for the club likely to be the January 6 fixture against his former side at AAMI Park.
