5 key ins for Hyundai A-League Round 6

Squad depth will be well and truly tested this weekend with international commitments but there are also several big names set to boost their sides in Round 6 – including a legend of the league.

Here’s five key players who have been named to return for their respective sides.

Besart Berisha (Melbourne Victory)

The A-League’s all-time leading scorer has served a two-week suspension and will be eager to get back amongst the goals against former side Brisbane Roar.

With Kosta Barbarouses and James Troisi missing on international duty, Victory fans will be hoping ‘Bes’ can step up and fire the Big V to their first win of the season.

Adrian Mierzejewski (Sydney FC)

The Polish winger has enjoyed a hugely impressive start to his career in the Hyundai A-League and will be a huge boost for the Sky Blues after being rested last weekend.

The 30-year-old’s excellent technical ability and range of passing has been a real treat to watch.

Marco Rossi (Wellington Phoenix)

The experienced Italian was a shining light at the back for Wellington last campaign but has struggled with injury so far this season.

In the absence of captain Andrew Durante, Rossi’s experience and leadership will be a big boost for the win-less Phoenix against Glory.

Baba Diawara (Adelaide United)

Another who has struggled with fitness this season, Diawara’s return could provide the spark the Reds have been missing in recent weeks.

The Reds have lacked an out-and-out goalscorer so far this campaign and Diawara could be the man to fill the void at the point of the attack for Marco Kurz’s side.

Osama Malik (Melbourne City)

The versatile midfielder returns following a one-game suspension and is likely to slot straight back into City’s starting XI for their clash with Wanderers.

Malik has impressed in a holding midfield role under disciplined manager Warren Joyce this season and his ability to break up the play will be important against a star-studded WSW outfit.
