Hyundai A-League stars Tim Cahill and Roy O’Donovan have both been named in EA Sports’ FUT Team of the Week following standout performances for club and country over the past week.
Melbourne City striker Tim Cahill starred for the Caltex Socceroos in Tuesday’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Syria, scoring both goals as Australia triumphed 2-1 in extra time.
The strikes were Cahill’s 49th and 50th goals for the national team.
Meanwhile, O’Donovan’s inclusion comes after the Irishman netted a remarkable first-half hat-trick in Newcastle’s 5-1 thrashing of Central Coast Mariners in round one.
In a dream debut, the Irishman also played a part in his side’s other two goals as the Jets ran riot against their closest rivals.
The duo join the likes of Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski, Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and Juventus’ Blaise Matuidi in the Team of the Week.
