Melbourne Victory fans got a glimpse of new Argentine recruit Matias Sanchez in the pre-season win over Brisbane Roar on Friday night, and they would have liked what they saw.
Berisha brace fires Victory over Roar
HAPPY WITH HIS START
Sanchez anchored the Victory midfield alongside Leigh Broxham it what was his first serious hit-out since June.
While there were understandably a few cobwebs, his range of passing certainly caught the eye.
“I feel good, that I have energy but the most important thing is improving,” Sanchez said after the match.
“The passing and the tackles, keeping the ball, this was ok.
“The pitch was a bit wet, so different to Argentina, so I have to improve with (playing on) this.”

VICTORY VERY IMPRESSIVE
Kevin Muscat’s side put in a dominant performance in Ballarat.
Sanchez was one of a host of strong contributors for Victory, setting up Besart Berisha’s early opener with a sensational through-ball.
“I’m happy because we won, this is the most important thing, and we played well,” Sanchez said.
“We played, we kept the ball, and the team looked like a family. We pressed high and the team was compact.
“If we look like this, we can have a big season.”
