In total, Bobô bagged 15 goals in the Hyundai A-League, plus one in the Westfield FFA Cup, whilst also laying on four assists to firmly establish himself as a vital member of Head Coach Graham Arnold’s squad.

Brazilian striker Bobo says Sydney FC need to win the Hyundai A-League Championship to complete a stunning campaign.

The Sky Blues frontman said he was pleased to be extending his stay and set his sights on further success in the new season.

“I’m very happy to be remaining a Sydney FC player for next season,” he said.

“This club is like a family to me now and I want to repay the faith shown in my by Arnie by claiming more titles in 2017/18 and I believe we can be better next year.

“The Asian Champions League is something that also excites me, I can’t wait to compete in Asia next season and further cement the status of Sydney FC as the best ever club.”

Head Coach Graham Arnold said the re-signing of Bobô was a major coup for the club and a signal of intent for the season ahead.

“Bobô has been key to everything we’ve done this season,” Arnold said.

“We defend from the front men and Bobô is crucial to that, so I’m very pleased to have him on board for season 2017/18.

Brazil great Gilberto Silva says the exploits of Sydney FC striker Bobo could be a bridge to bring more Brazilians to the Hyundai A-League.

“There’s plenty to play for in season 2017/18, we will get better and with Bobô on board there’ll be more silverware to celebrate.”

Bobô will feature against English Premier League heavyweights Liverpool on Wednesday 24 May before departing on holidays, retuning and reporting for pre-season training in July with the rest of the squad.
