New venue announced for Dolan Warren Awards

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has announced that this year’s major awards ceremony, the Dolan Warren Awards, will be held at The Star Event Centre in Sydney on Monday, 1 May 2017.

The prestigious night, which is a joint awards ceremony for the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League, will also be telecast on FOX SPORTS from 7pm AEST.

The awards were renamed the Dolan Warren Awards in 2016 to acknowledge and celebrate both the Julie Dolan Medal and Johnny Warren Medal for the best player in the Westfield W-League and Hyundai A-League respectively.

Fox Sports personalities Tara Rushton and Adam Peacock will co-host the glamorous evening, with the red carpet arrivals to be sponsored by luxury brand and new sponsor, Tag Heuer.

Last season's NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award winners Jamie Maclaren and Larissa Crummer.

“The Dolan Warren Awards night is an occasion where we celebrate and recognize the outstanding moments from the Westfield W-League and Hyundai A-League seasons,” said FFA CEO David Gallop.

“The stature of the event continues grow and with the support of The Star and Fox Sports it promises to be a fantastic night of glitz and glamour as we acknowledge the achievements of our players, coaches and referees.”

Awards to be presented on the night include the Julie Dolan Medal (best player in the Westfield W-League), Johnny Warren Medal (best player in the Hyundai A-League), NAB Young male and female Footballer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Golden Boot, Goal of the Year and Referee of the Year.
